I am a PhD student in History at the University of California, Los Angeles, focusing on the modern Middle East. Over the past few years, I have written about media culture in mid-century Syria, the framing of Black nationalism across the Arab world, and historical precedents of contemporary American aid policy. Before entering UCLA, I worked as a research analyst for several humanitarian projects in Syria, Iraq, Lebanon, Jordan, and Turkey.
In addition to my primary research interests, I also write about current geopolitics in the broader Middle East and American foreign policy.
